Tourism does not begin and end at the airport. It starts with the connections that bring visitors to a destination and continues through the experiences they discover along the way.
The launch of the Marshall Islands Pocket Guide highlights the important relationship between aviation and tourism demonstrating how safe, reliable connectivity can help unlock opportunities beyond the runway.
The guide was developed in collaboration with the Office of Commerce, Investment & Tourism (OCIT) and South Pacific Pocket Guide, following on-the-ground engagement with tourism operators, accommodation providers, restaurants, transport services, handicraft businesses and activity providers across Majuro.
The comprehensive digital guide has been supported by the Australian Government through the Australia-Pacific Partnerships for Aviation (P4A) program.
Executive Director for the P4A Program James Ramsay said, “P4A continues to support aviation solutions that connect people, places and opportunities. Another key area of P4A’s work is the Palau-Paradise Express, which demonstrates the value of regional aviation and tourism partnerships. They enhance travel links, support increased visitor flows and contribute to local economies with long term benefits for the region.”
The Marshall Islands Pocket Guide is the first step in P4A’s broader support to explore similar initiatives across North Pacific countries, recognizing the role of digital visibility and visitor information in strengthening tourism ecosystems.
“With the Marshall Islands Pocket Guide, for the first time, we are bringing together trusted information on our attractions, culture, local businesses, accommodations and experiences into one accessible platform,” said Loretta Lori deBrum, Marketing and Public Relations Officer for OCIT. “This will make it easier for visitors to discover what the Marshall Islands has to offer while giving our tourism operators greater visibility and opportunities to reach new markets. It is an investment in our destination, our people and the long-term growth of our tourism industry. Every visitor deserves a memorable experience, and this guide helps us tell our story with pride and authenticity.”
Safe and reliable connectivity brings visitors to Pacific destinations, while tools like the Pocket Guide help enhance their journey from arrival to exploration.
